Further to todays reports of problems with Outlook and MS Office applications :-
All
vessel problem cases so far reported are on Sophos engine 4.42. Vessels versions can be checked in Mailbox Manager.
There
have been two quarterly update CDs since this time. The last quarterly update
version is numbered 4.49. We recommend this is installed as soon as possible on
vessels.
In the short term, to work around the problem
1. We have sent a fix update file to the communications PCs of affected
vessels. If the vessel can make a connection via Launchpad this will solve the
immediate issue.
In the case the vessel can’t make a connection or
other problem follow option 2 below. This procedure will need to be run for any
networked PCs on engine 4.42 not the comms PC.
2. Delete the following file from folder “C:\program files\sophos\sophos
Anti-Virus\”
Irccon-a.ide
And reboot
